A good passive speaker still sounds great decades later. What it's missing is an amplifier, a wall socket and a way to play music from your phone. So it ends up in the attic, by the bins, or sold for next to nothing.
SoundUp is the missing piece: a small, battery-powered Bluetooth amplifier that sits on top of the speaker you already own.

Is SoundUp shipping now?+
Not yet. SoundUp is in production. Estimated shipping is December 2026 and estimated delivery is January 2027. This page is always updated with the latest timeline.
What speakers work with SoundUp?+
Any passive speaker rated at 3 to 8 ohms: bookshelf speakers, floor-standers and vintage hi-fi cabinets. If your speaker has bare-wire or banana-plug terminals and no power cable of its own, it is passive and will work.
How powerful is it?+
200 W peak and 100 W rated, into 3 ohms. Continuous output is lower than peak, which is normal for any amplifier. How loud it gets also depends on your speaker's sensitivity and impedance.
Will it damage my vintage speaker?+
No amplifier automatically pushes full power into a speaker. The volume setting and the speaker load decide how much power is drawn. Use sensible volume and avoid distortion.
Is SoundUp mono or stereo?+
Each SoundUp is mono and brings one speaker to life. Two SoundUps link wirelessly as a left and right stereo pair. Choose the stereo pair above and 30% comes off both in your cart.
How long does the battery last?+
Up to 40 hours at mid volume and around 7 hours at maximum volume. It recharges over USB-C in about 7 to 8 hours from empty.
Can I use it outside?+
Yes, for dry outdoor use like a garden, cabin or campsite. SoundUp has no waterproof rating, so keep it out of rain and splashes.
Does it have an app or EQ?+
No. SoundUp is deliberately simple: Bluetooth, AUX, volume and playback controls, and a battery.
Can it charge my phone?+
Yes. The 5 V USB output can charge a phone or power a small streamer.
What is the Accessory Kit?+
An optional add-on with 2 carry handles, a holder that fixes SoundUp to your speaker, 8 corner protectors and mounting screws. Tick the box above the pre-order button to add it to each SoundUp.
Can I cancel my pre-order?+
Yes. You can cancel for a full refund any time before your order ships. Just email hello@better-objects.com. Once it has shipped, pre-orders can't be returned for a change of mind, except where the law gives you that right: customers in the EU, EEA and UK can withdraw within 14 days of receiving their order. Faulty or wrong items are always replaced or refunded.
Is there a warranty?+
Yes. SoundUp has a 24-month warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Yes. It was funded on Kickstarter in October 2025, when 438 backers pledged €83,792, and Kickstarter picked it as a Project We Love. The campaign has closed, so pre-orders now happen here.
