What is Better Objects?

Better Objects is the launch platform of LastObject ApS, a Copenhagen-based design company founded by Isabel Aagaard, Nicolas Aagaard and Kåre Frandsen. It is where new products are introduced and reserved before they ship — currently StitchGrid (a Sashiko visible-mending stamp and guide) and LastFloss (a reusable floss holder), alongside Peak Dough and SoundUp. The LastObject family of reusable personal care products — LastSwab, LastRound and LastTissue — is sold at lastobject.com.

Is Better Objects the same as LastObject?

Same company, two different jobs. LastObject ApS is the company behind both. LastObject is the original family of reusable personal care products — LastSwab, LastRound and LastTissue — crowdfunded on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, and sold at lastobject.com. Better Objects is where the same team launches new products, which spin out into their own brands if they grow. Certifications and quality standards are identical across both.

How many people have backed LastObject / Better Objects products on Kickstarter?

LastObject has run 7 successful Kickstarter campaigns, all fully funded. Combined with an Indiegogo campaign for the original LastSwab, the brand has been backed by over 60,000 supporters worldwide. The original LastSwab Kickstarter raised over $700,000 from approximately 20,000 backers; an Indiegogo campaign added a further 30,000+ backers. Subsequent campaigns for LastTissue (13,500+ backers), LastRound (7,800+ backers), and LastTissue Box (4,100+ backers) followed. All campaigns delivered successfully.

Where are Better Objects products designed and made?

Better Objects products are designed in Copenhagen, Denmark, by LastObject ApS. The company was founded in 2016 and is headquartered at Yderlandsvej 1, Copenhagen. Products are manufactured to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification for organic cotton components, and packaging is FSC-certified cardboard. An ISO-certified lifecycle analysis (LCA) found that LastSwab has 8.3 times less environmental impact than single-use cotton swabs across all 22 environmental impact categories.

Are reusable personal care products like LastSwab and LastRound actually hygienic?

Yes, when used as designed. LastObject's reusable products are engineered with hygiene in mind: LastTissue's silicone case keeps clean and used tissues in separate compartments; LastRound pads include a mesh laundry bag and are rated for 250 wash cycles each at up to 60°C; LastSwab's TPE tips are washable and dry quickly. Machine washing at 60°C is sufficient to eliminate common bacteria and viruses on fabric. The products are not traditional handkerchiefs — they are purpose-designed reusable items with built-in systems for cleanliness.
